This musician made a name for herself when she wrote the song "Eyes on Me" for Celine Dion, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 representing Switzerland. In the 1990s, Goodrem, a former star of the Australian soap opera "Neighbours," wrote the song "Eyes on Me" for Dion, who won Eurovision in 1988 representing Switzerland. Goodrem was also mentored by Olivia Newton-John. "Growing up, Olivia Newton-John and Celine Dion were my two biggest musical loves. I don't think I would be the musician I am today without their influence. And both were part of that scene, but from different countries," she said. Goodrem also has a connection with San Marino's representative. Boy George, who appears in SENHIT's performance "Superstar," was once a judge and rival of Goodrem on the Australian hit TV talent show "The Voice." "I keep an eye on him. I follow him. I was overjoyed and couldn't stop laughing... it's so playful that Boy George said: 'I'm coming to Eurovision,'" she said. Speaking to the Associated Press in London, Goodrem discussed competing with the ballad "Eclipse" at Eurovision. "Eurovision has always been present somehow, like you could feel it in the air. And, of course, Australia has been in the competition for 11 years now. That's why we've become much more active as 'Team Australia.' But even as I was growing up, you were always fascinated by that incredible, iconic stage, and it somehow always found its way to us. I feel the same way, and I've always been patriotically inclined and faithful to the love I have for Australia. It feels like everyone is celebrating together, like we're all on this journey together. You know, I'm definitely here to give absolutely everything I have, yes," she conveyed. Goodrem mentioned that last year she had several of her own concerts in London and managed to feel the energy of Eurovision. "It was tangible, it was incredible, I watched all the shows, and it was really exciting. Someone asked me: 'Would you go to Eurovision?' And I said: 'I'm always open'... You never know where the path leads, it's just important that it feels right. I truly believe that throughout my career, when you come to my concert, everything is about unityโ€”music is for me a moment where we all sing the same song. And I've believed that my whole life, that it's very healing, music has real power," she said. Goodrem stated that she focuses on the power of music as a unifying space, a place that can encompass people's lives and become part of their life's soundtrack. "The more music, the better. I think that's very exciting. That means in September I'll be able to fully immerse myself in music for Eurovision Asia. Do you think I should bring Australian sand, that's very patriotic. I'll make a little beach on stage. I'm definitely very excited to bring all of that to life," she conveyed.
