The Raval's design perfectly aligns with Cupra's positioning as a brand with a sharp, modern look and a performance theme in its DNA. It remains faithful to the original design of the Urban Rebel concept car and features sculpted lines and premium characteristics typically seen only on larger vehicles, such as flush door handles that extend from the body when the car is unlocked.
Cupra has equipped all versions of the Raval with its triple-LED headlight design, and the brand logo on the hood is also illuminated. Cupra's signature "shark nose" design, characteristic of its entire lineup, is present here with two prominent creases on the hood.
The base Raval will come with 17-inch wheels, while most models will feature 18-inch aerodynamically optimized wheels. The Raval VZ, the most powerful model in the lineup, gets 19-inch wheels that emphasize its performance, along with illuminated door handles.
On all models, sharp, upward creases on the rear doors extend to a thin, intricately designed light strip that wraps around the vehicle. The triple-triangle design is repeated here, with an illuminated Cupra logo in the center. All cars feature a pronounced aerodynamic diffuser, giving them a distinctive appearance.
Buyers will have a choice of seven color options for the Raval, including some with a matte finish. For the first time, Cupra will offer the 'Plasma Iridescent' color, which shifts from cyan, blue, and indigo to rose red depending on how light hits it. Midnight Black and Manhattan Gray roof color options will also be available for a two-tone look.
The Cupra Raval is just over four meters long, specifically 4,046 mm, which is 276 mm (or nearly 30 cm) shorter than the Cupra Born hatchback. However, the Raval has almost the same wheelbase as the Born, measuring 2,600 mm. This not only gives it a more striking exterior appearance with wheels pushed to the corners but also allows for a fairly spacious interior.
The Raval's interior features a driver-focused layout with a steering wheel incorporating physical buttons, including two round satellite buttons that serve as shortcuts to driving modes and Cupra settings, standard on models with the 58 kWh battery.
Cupra's designers have toned down the copper accents that were once a hallmark of the brand, with more dark chrome inside the Raval, giving the cabin a sophisticated and modern look.
An ambient light strip runs from the top of the front doors around the base of the windshield, complementing the downward-facing light strip on the instrument panel.
Dubbed Smart Light Next Generation, this system not only enhances the interior ambiance but also provides visual feedback to the driver through animations for blind-spot detection and even launch control.
Taking interior lighting to a new level, the Raval features dynamic door projectors that illuminate a gently moving pattern on the inner door surface. This is a first in this segment and adds a unique detail to the Raval's cabin.
Behind the steering wheel is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, similar to that found in the updated Cupra Tavascan, which can be configured in multiple ways.
The 12.9-inch touchscreen features the latest Android-based operating system, including many of Google's most popular apps, from Google Maps to YouTube. A wireless charging pad is available on higher trim levels alongside the usual USB-C charging ports.
Numerous upholstery packages are available for the interior, with fabrics made from 100 percent recycled materials. More sporty seats are upholstered in Dinamica, a material made from 73 percent recycled content that provides a premium look and feel, complementing the Raval's sporty theme.
Cupra will also offer sport seats with fully 3D-knitted upholstery. The new production process reportedly generates no waste material and gives the seats a distinctive appearance.
Rear passenger space is quite generous given the Raval's compact dimensions, accommodating two adults comfortably. Both outer rear seats are equipped with ISOFIX mounting points, and the Raval also features a 430-liter trunk.
Two battery sizes will be available for the Cupra Raval, starting with a 38 kWh version paired with a 116 PS electric motor, providing a range of 318 kilometers.
A slightly more powerful version with 135 PS will also be available with the same 38 kWh battery, offering a range of 323 kilometers. This model rides on 18-inch wheels and features V2L technology. This battery can be charged at up to 90 kW on DC chargers, taking 27 minutes to go from 10 to 80 percent.
The 211 PS Raval is the first to get the larger 52 kWh battery, enabling a range of 448 kilometers. This specification will be available in two levels, with the highest adding V2L technology, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a rearview camera, and other features.
The 52 kWh battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 23 minutes, thanks to a maximum DC charging speed of 130 kW.
At the top of the Raval lineup is the VZ model with a 52 kWh battery but a more powerful electric motor delivering 226 PS and 290 Nm. Its official range is 394 kilometers.
This model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under seven seconds and comes with DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) suspension with adjustable damper settings. It is lowered by 15 mm compared to the standard model and has a 10 mm wider track, along with 19-inch alloy wheels with wider 235 mm tires and an electronically controlled differential.
The Cupra Raval is expected to start at โฌ26,000, with first deliveries set to begin in September.
