"Border police officers, conducting field activities to combat cross-border crime and illegal migration, in the town of Broćanac – Municipality of Nikšić controlled a passenger motor vehicle BMW X1 driven by K. A. (26), with M. A. (30) also in the vehicle, both citizens of Turkey. Also, a Peugeot 3008 vehicle, driven by F. O. (41), a citizen of Turkey, was controlled. The police control determined that there were a total of ten more people in these vehicles, citizens of Sudan, who possessed certificates of international protection in Montenegro, consisting of nine men and one woman, of which two are children and eight are adults, aged from 19 to 37 years. "The criminal processing, which was conducted immediately afterwards, indicates suspicion that the three Turkish citizens intended to transport these ten Sudanese to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to illegally smuggle them via footpaths from the territory of Montenegro to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, bypassing border crossings and police controls," it is stated. The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić has been informed about everything. "Three Turkish citizens were arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of illegal crossing of the state border and human smuggling. Ten Sudanese citizens have been placed at an appropriate location for care and undertaking further measures and actions," reports RTCG.
