Last year, 42,762 traffic accidents occurred on roads across Bosnia and Herzegovina, resulting in 288 fatalities, according to data from BIHAMK. This means that on average, 117 traffic accidents happened every day. Last year, there were 66 more fatalities compared to 2024, with 1,810 people sustaining serious injuries and 9,726 suffering minor injuries. There were 6,908 more accidents registered compared to 2024, an increase of 19.27 percent. Fatalities and injuries occurred in 8,124 traffic accidents, while 34,638 involved material damage only. Regarding traffic accidents with material damage, 6,791 more were registered compared to 2024, an increase of 24.37 percent. The average fatality rate in traffic accidents in Bosnia and Herzegovina is nearly seven fatalities per 1,000 traffic accidents.
