Cassano, a former Serie A star, made some rather bold statements on the Viva el Fรบtbol podcast, which he hosts alongside former footballers Daniele Adani and Nicola Ventola. One follower asked Cassano if he was better in his prime than legendary forwards Baggio, Del Piero, and Totti, to which he confidently replied without hesitation. "In my prime, absolutely yes, although I never actually reached that in my career or in life. I much prefer myself. Baggio was brilliant, Totti is the best number 10 in the history of Italian football, Del Piero was a phenomenal player, but if I had reached my 100 percent, I would have been better than them. In what was I better than Totti? I was more creative than him, physically stronger than Baggio, and better at everything than Del Piero. He scored more goals than me, but I'm talking about my prime. If I had done what I was supposed to, I would have had no competition. Goals don't tell the whole story. I was different," stated Cassano. He scored 112 goals and provided 100 assists in 400 Serie A appearances while playing for Bari, Roma, Sampdoria, Milan, Inter, and Parma. He also played for Real Madrid but managed only four goals and three assists in 29 appearances. The former forward scored 10 goals in 39 appearances for the Italian national team and helped them reach the final of the 2012 European Championship. Del Piero and Totti won the World Cup with Italy in 2006, while Baggio finished third with the Azzurri at the 1990 World Cup in Italy, second in the USA in 1994, and was eliminated in the quarter-finals in France in 1998.
