Over two days on the tatami in the Arena Hills hall, 366 male judokas and 208 female judokas will compete, and among the talented young European judokas in the U14 and U16 age groups are 112 competitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who today demonstrated admirable quality and confirmed that the sport of judo in our country has a promising future.

Omar Amro was adorned with gold in the up to 66 kg category, while in the same category, Muhamed Hurić and Lazar Latinović won bronze medals.

The brightest medal also ended up around the neck of the young Bosnian-Herzegovinian judoka Nikola Narančić, who defeated Hamza Babić in the final of the -73 kg category, while Tarik Žunić climbed to the top of the winner's podium in the boys' +74 kg competition.

Unfortunately, Ali Babić was left without gold in the up to 55 kg category for ages up to 14, but the silver in an exceptionally strong competition deserves all praise, and medals in the up to 60 kg category were won by Filip Nezirović and Miloš Pejčinović.

In the girls' up to 52 kg category, Viktoria Vrančić won silver, while Melisa Jergalić and Jana Bašević were adorned with bronze medals in the +63 kg category.

The young judokas from BiH also showed in the up to 16 age category that they can compete with their peers from Europe. Milijan Veletić was the best in the up to 55 kg category, while Harun Mulaosmanović won silver in the up to 60 kg competition.

Another gold for our country and their club was brought by Ajša Adilović in the up to 40 kg category, while her clubmate Aya Hasan Ahmad, with the silver won in the up to 36 kg competition, solidified Judo Club Braća Lukač in second place after the first competition day.

At the ceremony of the grand opening, Ognjen Pavlović, President of the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Branislav Crnogorac, Development Director of the European Judo Union, addressed the large number of participants and sports enthusiasts, wishing everyone a pleasant stay in Sarajevo and thanking all who helped organize such an event.

The day before the competition began, the Kodokan technical seminar also started, led by Kodokan expert Misato Nakamura, a three-time world champion, with the assistance of Aleksandar Kukolj and the celebrated Bosnian-Herzegovinian judoka Larisa Cerić.
