According to their claims, financial data was not compromised, but some basic information that users shared on Booking is at risk of theft.
"Based on the findings of our investigation so far, the accessed information may include reservation details and names, email addresses, addresses, phone numbers associated with the reservation, and anything you may have shared with the accommodation," the company stated.
Booking.com is a platform that hosts over 30 million accommodation listings worldwide. The company did not specify exactly how many users are affected.
The company has previously experienced similar security issues, including phishing attacks in 2018, when data from thousands of users was compromised.
