Screenings will be held at Meeting Point Cinema and Grbavica's Kvartovsko Kino, offering the audience a chance to watch the award-winning films "Kiss the Future" and "Staza," which tell powerful stories about Sarajevo—from its wartime past to the dreams of new generations. These screenings on April 6th are a gift to the public for Sarajevo City Day.

At Meeting Point Cinema in Sarajevo on Monday, April 6th, at 6 PM, Nenad Čičin-Šain's film "Kiss the Future" will be shown. The film generated immense interest at the opening of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival and was voted the best documentary at the 2023 Sarajevo Film Festival. "Kiss the Future" delivers a powerful narrative of Sarajevo's resistance during the 1990s siege. Through testimonies from local residents, musicians, activists, and artists, the film explores how music and art became tools of struggle and means of global solidarity. A central moment in the film is the post-war U2 concert held in Sarajevo in 1997, an event that symbolized the triumph of hope over nationalism.

At Kvartovsko Kino Grbavica on Monday, April 6th, at 6 PM, Ryan Sidhoo's film "Staza" will be screened. It won the UniCredit Audience Award for Best Documentary at last year's 31st Sarajevo Film Festival. "Staza" is a modern coming-of-age story following three teenagers—Mirza, Zlatan, and Hamza—as they pursue their Olympic dreams in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina. Training on their war-damaged bobsled track, a relic of the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics, they are guided by their determined coach, Senad. His unwavering commitment to restoring the neglected track reflects his struggle to secure a future for the boys in a country with one of the world's highest youth unemployment rates.

Free tickets can be picked up at Meeting Point Cinema and Kvartovsko Kino Grbavica one hour before the screenings begin.
