More than 5.3 million followers closely watch every move of German track star Alica Schmidt (27) on Instagram. It’s no wonder the popular blonde sprinter pays great attention to ensuring only the most successful photos end up on her profile.
However, following the current trend on social media, Schmidt decided to show the other side of the story—those photos she normally wouldn’t post. Along with the post, she wrote:
"What people see versus what is reality. A little reminder that we always show only the most interesting parts, not the whole story."
Thus, alongside a glamorous photo where she wears modern sunglasses, has perfectly styled hair, and holds a coconut, she also posted a "failed" shot where she looks at her phone without posing, with a confused expression on her face. She added to the photos:
She showcased a similar contrast through a balcony photo, where she poses in an elegant light blue dress with palm trees and a mountain landscape in the background, while in another picture she looks relaxed, with closed eyes and lowered shoulders.
To remind, Alica Schmidt is considered one of Germany’s best runners in the 400 and 800 meters. She also competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics as a member of the German relay team and has won a bronze medal at the 2019 European Under-23 Championships during her career. She currently competes for the Berlin club SC Charlottenburg.
