The month began on April 1st with the performance of the hit comedy "The Play That Went Wrong," directed by Robert Bošković, which won over the audience right from the start. The premiere and first rerun took place in a brilliant atmosphere, with excellent reactions from the audience, and tickets sold out in record time, even for the performance scheduled on April Fool's Day itself. This hilarious play is back on the repertoire on April 9th at 7:30 PM, when another evening filled with laughter and theatrical chaos that the audience adores is expected.
In the coming days, a diverse program follows: the play "Women in Red" will be performed on Friday, April 3rd at 7:30 PM. This is a play that has confirmed its status as the most-watched title for two seasons now. This powerful and witty play continuously fills the theater, and audience interest does not wane, making it one of the hallmarks of the National Theater Tuzla. Its energy, recognizable humor, and acting strength win over the audience time and again, confirming that "Women in Red" is much more than a play—it is a lasting phenomenon.
After that, on April 4th—Saturday afternoon is reserved for Family Day at the theater with the beloved title "Hedgehog's House," a warm and timeless story that wins over generations anew. This is also an excellent opportunity to introduce the youngest to the magical world of theater, because if we want our children to carry culture tomorrow, we must bring them to the theater today.
The play "It Wasn't the Fifth, It Was the Ninth" continues its life beyond its home stage—it will be a guest performance in Tešanj on April 7th, while the Tuzla audience will have another chance to watch it on April 25th. A special event awaits the audience on April 11th when the National Theater Tuzla holds its Open Doors Days. On this occasion, the play "Tango" will be performed, and admission is free for all visitors.
April also brings an international guest performance—the play "Journey" will be performed on April 15th in Prague, continuing the successful promotion of the National Theater Tuzla's productions on the European stage.
The very next day, on April 16th at 7:30 PM, the audience in Tuzla will have the opportunity to watch the guest performance "On the Trail," a co-production of the Knjaževsko-Serbian Theater and the Kraljevo Theater. "On the Trail" is a comedy that speaks about the theatrical world behind the scenes, about everything the audience does not see while the play is being created.
"Up and Down" is the title of an inclusive play that in a special way promotes diversity and togetherness, and it will be performed on the stage of the National Theater Tuzla on April 18th at 6:00 PM. The play was created in co-production with the Association "Life with Down Syndrome" and the Sarajevo War Theater, directed by Ermin Bravo. Admission to the play is free.
The end of the month will be marked by the premiere of the play "In the Name of the Father," by author and director Darrel Toulon, realized in partnership between the National Theater Tuzla, the Association Forgotten Children of War, and The Alpha Group. This is a play that brings a powerful and important social theme. The premiere is scheduled for April 24th, and the first rerun for April 28th. Admission to both performances is free.
