As announced by the U.S. Embassy, Ginkel welcomed the efforts of the FBiH Government in adopting an initiative that calls on the Council of Ministers of BiH to temporarily abolish customs duties on oil imports from countries that are not members of the EU or CEFTA. "This initiative would diversify oil sources for BiH, ensure greater security and stability of supply, and reduce price volatility felt by consumers at the pumps," it was stated. Special emphasis was, of course, placed on the potential for fuel to be imported from the U.S. "The U.S. is the world's largest oil producer, and American companies are ready to deliver high-quality fuel and replenish storage facilities in BiH if customs duties are abolished," Ginkel conveyed.
