The apartments that burned down in the complex near QSUT will be rebuilt by the construction company, while household furnishings will be compensated by the Municipality of Tirana. Its leaders say a working group has been set up, but an expert report is awaited to determine whether the event will be classified as a natural disaster.
"We are waiting for the expert report. We have funds for compensating furnishings and, if necessary, we can request more. We prepared social centers and social housing, but then it is up to the citizens' wishes," said Dritan Dango, Director of Civil Emergencies and Public Communication.
The People's Advocate, Endri Shabani, declared that a task force has been set up to analyze all buildings in Tirana regarding their safety.
"We will not only deal with this case, as it is not an isolated case; it is a recurring phenomenon," declared Endri Shabani, People's Advocate.
Residents, who have so far found individual solutions for housing, are awaiting concrete solutions from the authorities.
