A 58-year-old from Moscow was the armed individual who killed five people in Kyiv this evening, while at least ten others were injured. The perpetrator, after the attack, also set his vehicle on fire, while the police identified and executed him. Ukraine's Prosecutor General, Ruslan Kravchenko, stated that the armed individual opened fire with an automatic weapon, killing four people on the street and another inside a supermarket in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. At the same time, according to him, a fire broke out in the apartment in Kyiv where the perpetrator had declared he was staying, with further details about the causes still unknown. Kravchenko published a photo from the scene, in which a blurred figure covered in blood is visible inside a store, while a weapon is seen nearby. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a post on the Telegram platform, citing the Minister of Internal Affairs, said that five people had died and ten were being treated in Kyiv hospitals. At the same time, according to the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, one of the injured was later taken to the hospital, confirming the number of victims. Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko previously announced that the armed individual was neutralized during the operation to arrest him. He said that special forces of the national police intervened in the supermarket where the armed individual was barricaded and that he shot a police officer during the attempt to arrest him.
