Following the court's decision to reduce the sentence for the perpetrator of the murder of police officer Novruz Cenalia in Fier, the victim's father has reacted to Top Channel.

In an interview with journalist Entjola Budo, Asllan Cenalia stated that the decision was a "second murder," and mentioned that he will appeal the decision to the High Court.

"The decision is unexpected for me as a parent. As a police employee, I did not anticipate that decision, but I hope for justice until the end. The decision is a second murder for me, what can I say? We will continue legal avenues, I am a police employee, the enforcement of the law. There is nothing worse than what happened to us, but we will try to cope. We will take the decision to the High Court, I hope justice will be served. I have left it to justice, to do its job," expressed the father of the deceased police officer.

Novruz Cenalia was killed by Azgan Mernica on May 13, 2024, in the village of Baltรซz in Fier, following an argument over trivial reasons. Recently, the court reduced the sentence for the perpetrator from life imprisonment to 35 years of imprisonment.
