After the murder in Memaliaj, where the 30-year-old victim Endri Goxhaj lost his life, Aldo Kalemi and his brother-in-law, Dali Nela, were placed under "house arrest" yesterday following a court hearing, as part of their version of events has been revealed.
During the hearing to assess the arrest of Aldo Kalemi and Dali Nelaj, who was also seriously injured, the prosecutor presented the sequence of events that occurred three days ago in the town of Memaliaj.
Based on footage seized by the police and information gathered during the investigation, it has been established that the altercation began between two individuals.
Subsequently, the arrested individuals intervened. At that moment, the victim Endri Goxhaj drew a pistol and fired four bullets at Dali Nelaj.
After Nelaj fell to the ground, at a distance of nearly 2-3 meters from him, his two brothers, Donaldo and Marjoldo Nelaj, reacted upon seeing their brother on the ground by drawing pistols from their waistbands and firing at Endri Goxhaj.
Following this, Dali Nelaj's two brothers, Donaldo and Marjoldo, took their wounded brother in their vehicle and rushed him to the Gjirokastra Hospital, after which they fled in an unknown direction.
At the conclusion of the evidence presented, prosecutor Aulona Haxhiraj requested "house arrest" for Kalemi and Nelaj from Judge Romena Qamo. Judge Qamo supported the prosecutor Haxhiraj's proposal and imposed the measure of "house arrest."
Ermal Mataj, accused of the criminal offense of "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth," was also given the measure of "house arrest."
This was a more lenient measure than what was requested by his defense lawyer Shkรซlqim Rabaj for his client, but Judge Romena Qamo imposed "house arrest," thereby concluding today's hearings for the three arrested individuals: Dali Nelaj, Aldo Kalemi, and Ermal Mataj.
The latter is suspected of hiding the weapon used in the crime. Meanwhile, Dali Nelaj's two brothers, Donaldo and Marjoldo Nelaj, remain at large and are wanted by the police, having fled in an unknown direction after leaving their brother, Dali Nelaj, seriously wounded at the Gjirokastra Hospital as a result of gunfire from the victim Endri Goxhaj.
