A serious assassination with two victims shook the area of Balldren in Lezhë yesterday. As a result of the attack, Kreshnik Mujeci and his wife, Gentjana Mujeci, parents of four children, lost their lives.
Following the event, lawyer Gjergji Neli, who is also a relative of the couple, reacted publicly, calling for the full clarification of the crime. He emphasizes that the investigation should not be limited solely to the revenge motive but should consider all possibilities.
Through a social media post, Neli strongly condemned the criminal act and urged law enforcement institutions to identify and bring the perpetrators of this event to justice.
Regarding an incident that occurred several years ago, he clarified that Kreshnik Mujeci was not found guilty, dismissing insinuations that might link the current case to previous matters.
Concerning the gruesome and macabre assassination attempt on Kreshnik Mujeci and his family. With sorrow and regret, we received the bitter news regarding the serious assassination incident that occurred today in the village of Balldren, Administrative Unit of Balldren, Lezhë Municipality, where citizens Kreshnik Mujeci and Gentjana Mujeci tragically lost their lives. For this macabre assassination, we express deep pain and solidarity with the victims' families in this difficult moment.
We strongly condemn this serious criminal act and demand from law enforcement agencies the full and swift clarification of the event, as well as the prosecution of the perpetrators.
At the same time, we publicly condemn the statements of some media outlets, which have insinuated that this event is primarily linked to revenge motives, since the bloodline and the Mujeci clan have no obligations. Versions of this nature may indeed be among the suspected leads for law enforcement agencies, but we advise not to neglect other suspicious leads regarding the criminal event that occurred.
Kreshnik Mujeci was a regular, loving, and respected family man among relatives and the entire community around Lezhë and Shkodër, who engaged in livestock farming together with his late wife to sustain a normal life in service of his family.
These claims are untrue and unfounded beyond any doubt regarding the 2017 incident in Mal i Jushit, which was addressed and exhausted by the competent authorities, namely the Shkodër Prosecutor's Office, as well as the First Instance Court and the Shkodër Court of Appeal.
At the conclusion of these processes, citizen Kreshnik Mujeci was not found guilty in connection with that incident. Consequently, any attempt to link today's event to such claims is unacceptable, undermines the truth, and unfairly burdens the victims' family.
We call on the media to show professional responsibility, verify information, and avoid spreading inaccurate news that could negatively impact public opinion and the dignity of families allegedly involved in the conflict.
For this, we demand justice and the clarification of the event, full transparency regarding this macabre and serious incident.
