The investigation moments have returned to the crime scene in the village of Bulgarec in Korçë, where a few days ago the body of 78-year-old Gëzim Vija was found.
Sources inform that criminal experts have once again cordoned off the area and are conducting detailed investigative operations inside the victim's residence, aiming to fully clarify the dynamics of the event. Part of the investigation also includes a vehicle parked outside the residence, where further checks are being carried out.
The lifeless body of the elderly man was discovered on Thursday morning by a postal worker who distributes pensions in the area. After receiving no response from the 78-year-old, he alerted the neighbors, and subsequently, the door to the residence was opened, where the victim was found in one of the rooms with no signs of life.
According to the forensic examination, the 78-year-old had a severe head wound, caused by a hard object, which is suspected to have taken his life. Preliminary investigations suggest that there may have been a physical altercation between the victim and the perpetrator before the fatal act.
Meanwhile, the police continue to question the family and relatives of the victim, but so far their testimonies have not helped in identifying the perpetrator. The investigations are still ongoing.
