The Prishtina Prosecution has requested the maximum penalty, life imprisonment for Naim Murseli and the other accused in the case of the murder of Liridona Ademaj. In his statement, the Ademaj family lawyer, Leutrim Syla, expressed that there is no other penalty but the maximum for all three accused. "Honorable judicial body, those present, today we speak on behalf of those who are not here, we speak on behalf of her children, her family, and on behalf of all Albanian-speaking people and beyond who have sympathized with this case. From the initial hearing session and in every session, including the defense presentation, in every session it has been argued what we said at the beginning: that this macabre crime would be revealed by the accused themselves, either by accusing each other or through cooperation. The defense of Kokalla and Plava was taken from Naim Murseli, but they did not succeed. We have been fortunate to have a team of police investigators who, through video recordings, have enabled us to have a complete view of their meetings. We have never had a case where three men plan for a year to kill a woman and then attempt to exonerate themselves. There is no maximum penalty greater than life imprisonment, therefore nothing less should be considered in this case," stated Syla.
