Interpol Tirana managed to uncover through the photo comparison system that two Albanians who had been living under false identities for more than two decades in Italy are two brothers wanted internationally, convicted for murder in Lushnje. Artur and Arben Mëhilli killed a young man in 1999 to avenge the murder of their brother, Sokol Mëhilli, who is the father of the journalist who was part of "Big Brother VIP 5," Stenaldo. In a live connection with the show "Shqipëria Live," journalist Laureta Roshi revealed some details about the relationship between Stenaldo's father and his killer, Rezar Metaj. She stated that the two had a social relationship, adding that Metaj was being sought by the police two years after the crime was committed. "Stenaldo has learned about the event because he was one month old when his father was killed. He called 1997 a terrible year. It was more than that. The weapons of '97 continue to be weapons of crime. We are talking about '97, we all know how unsafe civilian life was. A legal chaos and a state barely standing. It was a great wave of hatred towards the state. We are at the moment when our population was armed with firearms. This murder does not have official data. Two years after the murder of Sokol Mëhilli, Rezar Metaj was being sought by the police. The conflict between Stenaldo's father and Rezar Metaj was never made public. It is about a social relationship. Two brothers lived with the anguish of not being able to save their brother. It is this period of delay in state action that leaves room for the personal revenge of the two brothers. When they committed the crime, they were 33 and 27 years old," the journalist stated.
