Gazment Bardhi, Chairman of the Democratic Party's Parliamentary Group, has once again reacted to the Prime Minister's stances, accusing Edi Rama of continuous attacks against the opposition. In a public statement, Bardhi expressed that Rama's rhetoric against the opposition has not ceased, while considering this an attempt to divert attention from important political issues. He emphasized that, in his view, the majority's decisions have negatively impacted the country's European integration process. Bardhi declared that if Rama had not voted against SPAK and in favor of Belinda Balluku, Albania would have already started closing the negotiation chapters for membership in the European Union. His reaction comes at a time of ongoing political tensions between the government and the opposition in the country. "Rama, the opposition, and the EU's additional conditions. Why are the negotiations delayed? Edi Rama is quite the liar and mocked Albanians! If it weren't for your vote against SPAK and pro Belinda Balluku, Albania would have started closing the chapters for membership negotiations today. This isn't happening, not because of the opposition's fault, but because you can't sell soap for cheese to the EU member states. Today we are in a situation where Albania is being given additional conditions in the membership negotiations because the Prime Minister/lawyer of Belinda Balluku and the Prime Minister/partner of Ergys Agasi has broken the trust of partners regarding the rule of law and equality before the law. That the 'Balluku' issue was a test for Albania on the path of integration was not said by the opposition in Tirana. Europe said it! And today, we are at least 4 months behind in negotiations, not because of the opposition's fault, as Edi Rama shamelessly deceives, but because he chose Belinda, that is, his chair, over European integration and the interest of Albanians. Member states are interested in two main issues: 1. Belinda Balluku's corruption 2. The AKSHI scandal. For both of these, so far, 49 questions have been sent, and the answers provided by the European Commission have not yet convinced the member states to give the green light. Why doesn't Edi Rama make transparency about this delicate phase of the negotiation process, but continues with the usual rhetoric, filled with hatred and slander against the opposition? Why doesn't he show Albanians that in the last meeting on April 9, 7 member states declared they would send other additional proposals for Albania? Why doesn't Edi Rama tell Albanians that 4 member states, with increased concern after his vote in defense of Balluku, declared they would approve the intermediate benchmarks (tasks to be done during negotiations), but only on the condition that at the closing benchmarks (final criteria to close a chapter) strengthened and broader conditions be set for Albania? I believe everyone remembers Edi Rama's stance during the campaign that 'we cannot lose even a single day of time with negotiations, because the EU's door may close.' Today, there is only one person responsible for the delay in negotiations: Edi Rama. Today, there is only one truth about integration: With the vote against SPAK for the 'Balluku' case, Edi Rama will cost Albania not one or two days, but at least 6 months of delay in integration!", writes Bardhi.
