Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his speech at the Socialist Party Assembly, spoke about Albania's European integration. He said that nowhere in the world does the opposition attempt to sabotage the EU membership process. "I believe the greatest potential, and I say this seriously, is untapped among women, because 33% women is very little. I want to tell you that it is, I believe, very important for each of us that I consider every assembly the leading orchestra of each territory and the leading force of each territory. So for me it is very important that at least every organization chairman is aware of certain things that go beyond the personal and beyond the communal, but that are for everyone. Why am I saying this? Because I want everyone to be very mindful of the times we are living in today. It is the first time, find me another instance where those who have a passion for history tell me, but it is the first time that fortune smiles upon Albanians. Because it is the first time that all the great powers have Albanians with them in a concrete sense, not with empty talk, that never before have we had such a concrete opportunity to finally become part of the European club. What must be clear is that it is not a door open forever, it is a door that can close and this is a moment that cannot be lost for any reason in the world. It is something unimaginable. It has not been done and my friends in Europe tell me from time to time we have never seen it, we have not seen it in any country and with any country what we see with you, that some of your own come and leave no stone unturned to ensure this process does not happen. It has not, none. There is political fighting in many other countries too. The Macedonians never did this to the Macedonians, never, to go there and say 'look there, they should in no way be allowed because it is a horror,' this they have not done, but we can do nothing about this. We can do nothing about it, some of the ignorant who have no idea what they are dealing with, meaning what thing they are trying to harm, they are trying to harm a moment when fortune, history is smiling upon Albanians which it has never smiled upon, to tell the truth. It is something magnificent and it is the most extraordinary thing we can do for our children. While the opposite is the most dramatic thing, I'm not saying tragic because life goes on, but the most dramatic that we might not manage because if that door closes, it will take years to open again. Awareness of this is very important for what we have in daily life with people in cafes, with people at work, with people on the street. It is very important. It changes everything.", he said.
