Colonia Moscardó, a fourth-tier club in Spain, has found itself at the center of controversy after releasing a promotional video deemed offensive and discriminatory. In the content, which was later deleted from social media, the club's president, Javi Poves, is seen following some Muslim players with an Iberian ham, as part of what was presented as a "promotional initiative" linked to a reward for the upcoming match. The video also includes the phrase "eat pork," an element that immediately sparked criticism and accusations of religiously charged and discriminatory content. The public reaction was instantaneous, forcing the club to remove the video. Poves later attempted to defend himself: "It was something fun, we removed it because not everyone liked it, but I think some want to use it to attack Moscardó," he stated. He further added: "If anyone felt offended, I am sorry, but I believe it is being looked at in the wrong direction." He could face a suspension of up to 2 years from the Spanish Football Federation.
