The family of the late Liridona Ademaj has sent a letter to the program "Goca dhe Gra" after the Basic Court in Prishtina sentenced the perpetrators to life imprisonment, Naim Murseli and Granit Plava, while Kushtrim Kokalla received 30 years in prison. In the letter, Liridona's family expresses gratitude for everyone's support, stating that this decision eases their pain, even if only slightly. Regarding Liridona's two minor sons, the family says they will seek custody of them, under the required conditions. "After the court's decision, we as a family feel relieved because a criminal procedure has culminated in a court ruling, and they have not remained solely in the conscience of the people and only in the condemnation they received from citizens. The sentence imposed by the court was at the maximum level recognized by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. Liridona does not return for the Ademaj family, nor for Liridona's children, nor for those who knew her as a strong, hardworking woman, and above all as a person who sacrificed everything for her family. This decision refreshes the hearts of the family, and in the future, for Liridona's children, it will serve as documentation and confirmation of the truth about the tragedy of their mother. The children will have no reason to worry about the delivery of justice regarding their mother, as a conscientious and professional person has appropriately judged the perpetrator of their mother's murder. Liridona's family will request the Swedish authorities to take custody of the children, whether in the Republic of Kosovo or in any of the European Union states, as the Swedish state may accept such a request," the letter from Liridona's family states.
