A serious incident was recorded during the night hours in the village of Dorëz, in the Administrative Unit Center of Librazhd, where a wooden-construction guesthouse was engulfed in flames, suffering significant material damage.
According to preliminary data, the Police were notified at 22:46 about the fire at the guesthouse owned by citizen Enver Shkurti. Immediately after the alert, firefighting forces, police, and local residents were engaged at the scene, cooperating to bring the flames under control.
Twelve firefighters with 2 firefighting vehicles participated in the fire suppression operation, working for several consecutive hours under difficult conditions until the flames were completely neutralized at 03:00 on the morning of April 10, 2026.
Sources from the investigative group indicate that the cause of the fire is suspected to be a fault in the deteriorated electrical network, which caused the rapid spread of the flames, further favored by the wooden construction of the building.
As a result of the fire, approximately 80 m² of the guesthouse's area was burned, including the kitchen, bedroom, and toilet facilities. The property was used for tourism activities.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although material damages are significant.
Authorities continue investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, while the case highlights the importance of controlling and maintaining electrical installations, especially in tourist facilities and fire-sensitive constructions.
