The National Border Police of Kukës has intercepted a case of illegal migrant transportation, arresting two young women from Tirana. The coded operation "Mënyra" was carried out following information about a new scheme for illegal border crossing.
As a result, a 31-year-old woman and the driver of the accompanying vehicle, who was scouting the route to avoid police services, were placed in handcuffs. In total, 2 vehicles, a sum of euros, and a sum of cash were seized.
Morinë, Kukës/ The coded police operation "Mënyra" is concluded. She was transporting 7 migrants by vehicle for illegal border crossing, the 31-year-old woman is placed in handcuffs. The services of the Local Directorate of Border and Migration in Kukës, based on information obtained through operational channels about a new method of attempts to transport illegal migrants, aimed at assisting illegal border crossing for profit, organized and concluded the coded police operation "Mënyra".
As a result of the operation, citizens were arrested: F. B., 31 years old, and Xh. C., 22 years old, residents of Tirana. Citizen F. B. was caught in the act by the Border Police services in the village of Morinë, transporting 7 illegal migrants in her vehicle, whom she intended to help cross the border with Kosovo illegally, for profit. Meanwhile, citizen Xh. C., with her vehicle, was accompanying and scouting the route to avoid police checks. As material evidence, 2 vehicles, a sum of euros, and a sum of cash were seized. The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
