A serious incident occurred this afternoon in Durrës, where a 17-year-old lost his life on the premises of a secondary school.
The incident took place around 3:15 PM in the gymnasium of the "Marie Kaçulini" school, which is currently used in the afternoon for classes by the public high school "Gjergj Kastrioti," following damage to the latter from the earthquake and the ongoing reconstruction process.
According to preliminary data from the police, the student suddenly felt unwell and lost consciousness while in the gym. Emergency services were immediately notified, and the minor was transported by ambulance to the hospital but unfortunately could not survive.
Preliminary sources indicate that the death is suspected to be from natural causes, specifically as a result of cardiac arrest. Police services arrived at the scene and, in cooperation with the investigative team, are carrying out procedural actions to fully clarify the circumstances of this serious incident.
