A tragic event has shaken Ghanaian football, where a young footballer lost his life following an armed attack on the team's bus. According to authorities, Berekum Chelsea's Dominic Frimpong was fatally shot during a robbery as the team was returning from a league match against Samartex. The Ghana Football Federation reported that the robbers opened fire on the squad's bus while it was traveling with the players on board. The 20-year-old Frimpong sustained severe head injuries and later passed away in the hospital. This incident revives concerns about team safety in the country, as a similar case was recorded in 2023 when the Legon Cities bus was attacked after a match in Samartex, although there were no injuries in that instance. Authorities in Ghana have launched investigations to fully uncover the details of the event and apprehend the perpetrators.
