At least 14 people have lost their lives and 29 others were injured following a tragic accident in southern Ecuador. The incident occurred on Wednesday near the Moyeturó area, in the province of Azuay, in the Andean region, when a bus veered off the road and fell into a stream. According to the ECU911 emergency service, the vehicle was subsequently engulfed in flames, worsening the casualty count. "So far, the number of people who have lost their lives in the accident on the Cuenca-Moyeturó road has reached 14 and that of the injured stands at 29," authorities announced in a statement. Road accidents remain one of the leading causes of death in Ecuador.
