The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, has stated that he will not bow to pressure to engage in a war with Iran, saying that the conflict is not in the national interest of the country.

His comments came hours after Donald Trump gave an interview in which he suggested that the terms of the UK-US trade deal reached last year could be changed.

In response to questions from MPs, Starmer said he was under considerable pressure to follow a different political course, adding that recent developments had only increased that pressure.

"I will not change my mind. I will not bow. It is not in our national interest to get involved in this war, and we will not do so. I know where I stand," he said.

The British Prime Minister reiterated that the government is committed to non-interference, emphasizing that this conflict is not Britain's war.
