The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Klodiana Spahiu, participated in the panel "The Way Forward โ€“ From Communication to Cooperation," held as part of the 4th Diaspora Summit in Tirana. In her speech, Spahiu emphasized that the Diaspora remains a significant priority for the work of the government and Albanian institutions. She highlighted that Parliament will undertake all necessary actions to be as close as possible to Albanians wherever they live, strengthening communication and cooperation with them. "All deputies should have connections with the diaspora. Behind those opening doors is Albania, and we must rely on the trinomial Governmentโ€“Parliamentโ€“Diaspora, because this is how we become stronger and more developed," Spahiu stated. The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Klodiana Spahiu, also stressed that Albania is gaining increasing international prestige, thanks also to the contribution of the Albanian diaspora worldwide. Focusing on future policies, Spahiu expressed that the new Diaspora Strategy 2026โ€“2030 is expected to include Parliament as well, aiming to engage all institutional actors for broader cooperation. According to her, this cooperation is also essential for achieving the goal of Albania's integration into the European Union by 2030. During the discussion, Spahiu also responded to questions from attendees, guaranteeing the readiness of Parliament and parliamentary committees to cooperate with the diaspora and address any concerns or issues they may have. As part of the panel, a cooperation agreement was signed between the National Diaspora Agency and the National Youth Agency. Also present at the event was the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, who praised the role of the Diaspora and committed to concrete support for Albanian teachers in the diaspora, including training and payments, following the model already implemented in Greece.
