A scandal involving 70 Serie A footballers paying thousands of euros for luxury escorts has shaken Italian football. AC Milan striker Rafael Leao has recently reacted via a social media post.
"In recent days, my name, like those of other footballers, has appeared on websites, social media, and newspapers in connection with an investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office.
I want to clarify directly that I am in no way linked to the facts under investigation. I am not involved and have not committed any crime. I ask everyone not to associate my name with this situation arbitrarily or superficially, without considering the truth and respect for private life. Before being footballers, we are people with families and reputations.
For this reason, I have already instructed my lawyer to take action in all appropriate forums against anyone who continues to spread false information or information that damages my reputation."
