An unusual accident caused panic at a crowded tourist beach in Thailand when a car veered off the road and ended up in the sand among sunbathers. According to reports, an 83-year-old Swedish man lost control of his Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck at the Pratumnak Soi 5 viewpoint in Pattaya. The vehicle struck several parked motorcycles, destroyed a protective barrier, and fell about three meters down onto the beach below.
From the collision, at least one tourist was injured after being hit by a piece of the broken metal barrier. The injured person was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
Witnesses said the area was very crowded due to Songkran celebrations, and the accident created scenes of panic among vacationers and local residents. Authorities suspect the driver may have suffered a health issue while driving, as he had a cardiac stimulator and remained shaken after the incident.
