The court session at the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) regarding Tirana's mayor, Erion Veliaj, and other defendants in this case has been postponed. The next session is scheduled for April 27 at 12:00.

Veliaj was not present in the courtroom and, according to reports, has not issued any statement regarding his absence.

It has also been learned that the General Directorate of Prisons did not execute the court order for his accompaniment and did not provide the relevant documentation.

The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, raised concerns about the lack of notification of the defendant by the prison authorities, emphasizing that this situation constitutes a reason for the session not to be held. He requested that, if the session is postponed, the next date be set as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Prisons has been ordered to inform the court of the reasons for not notifying Erion Veliaj about today's session.

During the session, Veliaj's lawyer demanded the respect of procedural rights, stressing that the defendant must be regularly notified and express his willingness to participate in the process.
