In the opening of the Grida Duma podcast, Blendi Salaj shared a strong stance on politics and leadership in Albania, criticizing the current approach and the way power is exercised. "I am a political person. We are all political people," he expressed, emphasizing that he follows political developments, but now from a greater distance. "Politics interests me, it often excites me, it always disappoints me... politics itself has degenerated, it is in dire straits at the moment." Salaj underlines that, despite the contributions of specific individuals, the overall climate has become heavy and tiring for the public. "It has become very noisy, unbearable... so I am watching from a distance what happens." In his analysis, one of the main problems relates to the leadership model that has dominated the country. "Albania has always been led by the strong," he says, suggesting that this model is not necessarily what the country needs today. According to him, a true leader should have other qualities. "There must be extraordinary integrity, gentleness, humility," Salaj states, although he acknowledges that such a profile might not be easily accepted by the public. "Perhaps they wouldn't vote for a gentle man... but this is what the country needs." He emphasizes that society needs more authenticity and less political rhetoric.
