Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that American consumers may face significant fuel price increases following recent developments in the region. In a post on social media platform X, he wrote: "Enjoy the current prices. With the so-called 'blockade,' you will soon regret $4-5 per gallon." The statement comes in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's order to impose a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, after ceasefire negotiations with Tehran failed. Ghalibaf warned that this decision could have direct consequences on international energy markets, impacting the rise of oil and fuel prices in the U.S. He also published a chart of fuel prices near the White House, along with a technical formula, which some have interpreted as a warning of potential shocks in global oil markets.
