Sali Berisha reacted following an earlier statement by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who commented on the removal of visas with the EU, which he called a major achievement. Berisha writes that Rama "was sending emails to Brussels saying that if visas were removed, 800 thousand Albanians would rush to you." "Friends, visas with the EU were removed in 2010! He was on a hunger strike and sending emails to Brussels saying that if visas were removed, 800 thousand Albanians would rush to you. And now he calls the removal of visas the greatest achievement of his life! When you have no shame, you say anything," writes Berisha. "I have always had a feeling of revenge within myself because of the passport. Every time I went abroad, where I was nothing more than an Albanian too tall to be patient before an Italian policeman half my size, I always ended up at the airport police station, regularly, as soon as you get there in line, I would get annoyed once and would tell that policeman what's with that woman, but who are you... why? Because I was terrified of that line. I said when will the day come that this passport and being Albanian are not associated with such situations. This is my greatest achievement," expressed Rama regarding the visas.
