The Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia, Valentina Matviyenko, has stated that Moscow will not undertake actions like those of the United States toward foreign leaders, mentioning the recent case in Venezuela. In an interview with Russian media, she emphasized that Russia will not attempt to capture or abduct Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, describing such an action as unacceptable by her country's standards. "This is not our style. It is a matter of self-respect. If we were to do such a thing, we would lose respect for ourselves," she expressed. Matviyenko also commented on developments related to Venezuelan President Nicolรกs Maduro, following the operation undertaken by the United States in early January. According to her, such actions do not bring real benefits and leave consequences on international reputation. She also mentioned that such events remain as "a stain in history," emphasizing that Russia aims to maintain a different approach in international relations. Her statements come at a time of ongoing global tensions, where military actions and international interventions remain at the center of diplomatic debate.
