A new Netflix documentary has brought Hulk Hogan's life back into the spotlight, shedding light on the toughest periods he endured, including his battle with chronic pain and addiction to strong medications.

In the documentary "Hulk Hogan: Real American," which includes his final interview before his passing in July 2025 due to a heart attack, the former wrestling star openly confesses to using fentanyl.

He reveals that after his divorce from Linda Hogan in 2009, he faced a dark period, both emotionally and financially.

During his time with TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling), Hogan admitted he was no longer able to perform at the required level due to serious health issues.

Constant pain drove him to use fentanyl, one of the most powerful painkillers, and he confesses that his usage had reached alarming levels.

"My pharmacist told me he had never seen a man take so much," he says in the documentary, highlighting the danger of this situation.

Hulk Hogan also explains that the pain was so severe he couldn't lie down, spending entire nights sitting in a chair.

His final appearance in the ring was in 2012, and a year later, he permanently left TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling), closing a significant chapter of his career.
