A serious incident has been reported in the city of Vlora, where a 42-year-old teacher has denounced being assaulted by her parents' neighbor, who grabbed her by the throat. The entire incident occurred just hours ago in the port area. According to her report, she was first insulted and then assaulted, managing to escape and seek help from the police. The woman stated that shortly before, she was also assaulted, and her father was struck near the heart with a hard object, endangering his life.
The conflict began because the parents of the 42-year-old do not accept that the wife of the assailant is the building administrator, insisting instead that the residents should elect one. "Today around 1:00–1:30 p.m., while heading home, a person dressed in black clothes, with half his face covered by the hood of his jacket, confronted me, grabbed me by the throat, and insulted me without any reason. I have never had any conflict with this person, none at all. This person is a resident in the building where my parents live, named Fatjon Dervishi.
I immediately notified the police, and then, frightened, I went to my parents' apartment to seek help. On the first floor of the building, the person was on the same path as me because he was also heading home, and I found myself alone in the middle of the street. He assaulted me again, grabbing me tightly by the throat. In those moments, while trying to escape his grip and calling the police for the second time to come, he hit my hand, took my phone, and smashed it on the ground so I couldn't call anyone.
This happened in the presence of two other residents of the building, who are witnesses. And another thing: these people monitor all our movements because they have installed cameras in the building that they themselves oversee. He locked the building door and left; we couldn't open it because we needed a key. I went and filed the report, and after leaving the police station, his family members were waiting for us at the door and threatened our lives," the victim stated.
