On the second day of the Diaspora Summit, Prime Minister Edi Rama addressed all Albanians who built their lives abroad, with strong messages about their courage, strength, and achievements. Rama said that they built their lives and careers outside the country, overcoming stereotypes and proving through work and nobility the country they deserved to have. โAlbania does not end where its territory ends; Albania lives wherever Albanians have kept their language, unwavering hope, and the unbreakable feeling of their national belonging. Today, when the world is more interconnected than ever and when words travel instantly, as fast as a blink of an eye from one continent to another, you are the extension of Albania everywhere in the world. There was a time when Albanians fled their homeland with hearts heavy as stones on their backs, taking with them the courage of those who have nothing to lose and the pain of separation from everything. But what history until yesterday called a hopeless flight, time has transformed into an irreplaceable bond; what once seemed like a gap has now become a bridge. Today, the Albanian diaspora is not a history of flight, but of multiplying the forces of Albanian contribution and the added value of Albania. Albanians built lives, families, careers, and businesses in countries that began to recognize them not through stereotypes, but through usefulness, resilience, and nobility,โ said Rama. The head of government drew a parallel between the perseverance of Albanians who emigrated to open doors for themselves and Albaniaโs journey with equal perseverance to become part of the EU. โYou persevered in waiting, being ready for the door when it opened, and Albania also persevered and was ready when the door opened, which is why it opened the membership chapters faster than any other country,โ said Rama.
