An unusual incident has sparked debate in Israel, where a citizen was detained by police due to a religious cap bearing symbols of two states. The individual in question is Alex Sinclair, who was stopped by police after wearing a kippah featuring both the Israeli and Palestinian flags. According to his testimony, the event occurred at a local establishment in the city of Modi'in, where another person publicly objected and alerted the authorities.

Upon the arrival of the police, Sinclair claims that officers demanded he hand over his personal belongings and escorted him to the police station, where he was held for a period of time without the ability to contact his family or a lawyer. He emphasizes that after his release, his personal item was initially not returned, and later it was handed back only after the portion bearing the Palestinian flag had been cut off. For this reason, he has filed a formal complaint against the police for unlawful detention and property damage.

On the other hand, the Israeli police have responded by clarifying that the intervention occurred following a report and that the individual was detained for verification but was subsequently released. The authorities have not provided further details due to the ongoing investigation.
