During his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that EU membership is a historic opportunity. He also emphasized that the country has experienced economic growth, adding that this has led to increased wages and that the government has also started paying for seniority in employment. However, the Prime Minister also criticized the opposition, stating that they are blind and do not want the country's integration. "Today, all countries say we want to take Albania into the EU. But we must understand that we are alone in this battle, we have the majority but we are alone. The others are against us and are so blind that they confuse opposition to us with the national interest and the common good of the country, and of our children, and those who want to take advantage of this moment and join the EU," said Rama, adding: "We have gained respect, trust, and have placed Albania in a different position, and at the same time, we have grown the economy. We have systematically increased wages and now we have started paying for seniority in employment. Teachers, doctors, military personnel, and police employees are also being paid for seniority in employment. Whoever says corruption has increased is telling a big lie."
