American singer Meghan Trainor has responded to the widespread criticism she received after revealing that her third child was born via a surrogate. The artist shared that the negative reactions on social media emotionally affected her to the point where, as she said, she "cried every night."

In an interview on the podcast "Not Gonna Lie," the singer recounted her experience during this process and the close relationship she had with the surrogate mother. She emphasized that they were in constant communication and that this experience allowed her to be more present in caring for the baby without enduring the physical challenges of a C-section delivery.

After publicly announcing the birth of her daughter and revealing that she was born via a surrogate, the singer said she faced a wave of criticism and negative comments online.

"I thought, 'Now they hate me, they're not going to like this,'" she expressed, adding, "It was like a cloud of tears every night from worry. I didn't want people to attack my daughter for how she came into this world."

She added that the support from her team and her therapist helped her get through this difficult period. Additionally, her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, encouraged her by saying that true fans would always stand by her.

Trainor described these reactions as incomprehensible and emphasized that the choice to expand their family through a surrogate was the healthiest and safest decision for her and her family.

The couple now has three children, including the three-month-old daughter and two sons.
