Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu spoke about the SPAK files and the decisions made by the special structure for high-importance cases. In a live interview for 'Top Story', lawyer Spahiu expressed that for some criminal acts, the prosecution is afraid to investigate, and according to him, there are even some individuals who have been called in for questioning on certain matters after many years. "Since we are at a table followed by a sensitive audience, I would like to clarify that the outcome of major cases will be like that of small files. That is, everyone is equal before the law and the court. I understand that the public is eagerly waiting for high-level politicians. SPAK's work has been measured by arrests: when it makes arrests, it is successful; when it doesn't, it is wrong. At this moment, the work, failure, or success of SPAK will be measured by court decisions. So, all these major casesโthis is the moment of legal testing. There is a problem: Albania ranks last in Europe for declaring innocence. In Albania, courts mostly accept the prosecution's charges. I do not think Albanian prosecutors work with higher quality than European ones. Today, those working in SPAK must understand that we have a new reality. Before SPAK was created, political pressure was extraordinary. Parliament has dismissed 4 prosecutors, 2 chairmen of the High Judicial Council, and 3 chairmen of the High Court. For some criminal acts, the prosecution is still afraid; there are individuals who have been called in for questioning after 15 years," Spahiu stated.
