Xhuana Nikolli ended her life by consuming poison, but left behind many doubts.
Her mother, in an interview with Top Channel correspondent Brixhilda Deda on "Shqipëria Live," accused Erlado Fizi, as well as the friend with whom the deceased 25-year-old shared a home, as they were the last people to have seen her. The mother revealed that the couple's problems began after marriage because Eraldo's family did not approve of them living together in Tirana, wanting them to stay with them instead.
"It was very hard for us because it came as a shock, so much pain for us. Our daughter was doing very well in her dreams, she was happy. Until we got the news that she was in the hospital. They fell in love in high school. They continued their relationship for 8 years, and after Xhuana finished her studies, they got engaged. We agreed and never stood in their way. Meanwhile, Xhuana worked, but he didn't. After they got married, they went on their honeymoon, and problems started because he couldn't find a job. Xhuana wanted to live in their own home with him, but his parents wouldn't allow it. They said, 'He doesn't need to work because we support him.' They offered to give them money to go to Tirana and come back, but Xhuana didn't like that because she wanted to live alone with her spouse.
Then she told me she wanted to separate, maybe get back together later, but she wanted things to calm down. They loved each other. His family hasn't come; they don't have the face to come. We never touched a hair on our daughter's head; we sent her there with all our blessings. If they had the wedding, it was for their son. Our daughter was uneducated, and he was uneducated too, with nothing, and he took our daughter. We sent our daughter as a bride, and they brought her back in a coffin. My plea is that he should never have laid a hand on my daughter. God willing, his family will go and bring him to justice, and he will suffer for what he did to our daughter. When he is arrested, we will feel some relief.
Xhuana never expected this to happen to her. She loved this boy with all her soul. They got along very well before marriage; problems started afterward because his mother didn't want them to live on their own.
