According to local media, the conflict began when one of the brothers supported a neighbor who was trying to clean the African dust that had covered the island, using a water hose. The action provoked an immediate reaction from the other brother, while tensions escalated further when shared costs for the water bill were mentioned. The verbal debate quickly turned into a physical altercation, and the situation escalated even more with the involvement of one of the brothers' wives.
