A municipal employee who was near the young girl at the moment she was attacked by a pitbull in Vlorë managed to save the minor from more serious injuries. He recounted to Top Channel journalist Mikel Marsi that when he saw the dog attacking, he quickly approached and grabbed it by the chain it had, pulling it away from the 4-year-old. He said the dog was roaming the city without an owner and with a chain attached to its neck. "The girl was with her mother, grandmother, and grandfather. The dog was passing by, barked, and grabbed her head. I went and caught the dog and tied it with the chain. The dog has been on the streets for three days. It bit the girl on the head... she survived, it was her luck and that I intervened at that moment. The dog has been wandering all day with a chain," he said. Meanwhile, the minor was immediately transported to the Vlorë hospital and is receiving medical assistance. It is still unknown who the owner of the dog is, and the police will investigate the incident, which could have ended with fatal consequences.
