A serious traffic accident has been recorded on the secondary road Lezhë–Kakarriq, where a vehicle veered off the road and ended up in a canal, overturning. As a result of this tragic accident, two people have lost their lives, a father and daughter, Anton Keçi and Bora Keçi. According to preliminary sources, it is suspected that the incident occurred in the afternoon hours but was only discovered late in the evening on Saturday, reports Top Channel correspondent Brixhilda Deda.
It was the family members, worried about the lack of contact, who began searching for their relatives. Meanwhile, during a patrol in the area, police services spotted the overturned vehicle in the canal, where the lifeless bodies of the victims were also found. The difficulty in locating them was significant, as the canal was nearly invisible.
Around 21:45 on April 25, 2026, the son of citizen A. K. reported to the Lezhë Police Station that he had lost contact with his father and sister, who had left for work in their vehicle. Immediately after receiving the notification, police services conducted searches to find them. In the village of Gocaj, near the cement factory, on a secondary road, their vehicle was found in a water-filled canal. After the vehicle was pulled from the water, it was determined that citizens A. K., 54 years old, and B. K., 20 years old (father and daughter), were inside without signs of life.
Preliminarily, it is suspected that the vehicle left the road due to the driver, citizen B. K., losing control of the steering. The investigative team is at the scene and is working to clarify the circumstances, determine the cause of the vehicle leaving the road, and complete full legal documentation.
