Democratic Party MP Agron Gjekmarkaj delivered a speech in the plenary session of the Assembly, accusing the government of corruption, manipulation of reality, and use of violence against citizens and the opposition. At the beginning of his speech, Gjekmarkaj emphasized that in public life, "words are not merely communication but an act of conscience between truth and lies," referring to recent political developments. He accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of attempting to create a false public narrative, citing the case of a former director of AKSHI, which he described as an example of "feigned regret." Referring to SPAK investigations, Gjekmarkaj claimed that significant assets had been seized, which he argued indicate the level of corruption in the country. "Reality is not propaganda. Reality is the fact that a 'homeless person' turns out to own apartments and villas," he said, linking this to what he called a "clientelist and corrupt system." The Democratic MP also highlighted the reconstruction process following the 2019 earthquake in Lezhรซ and other areas, claiming that promises have not been fulfilled and that citizens are still waiting for housing. In his speech, Gjekmarkaj further accused law enforcement institutions of excessive use of force against protesters, naming police officials and ministers who, according to him, justify violent actions as "law and order." He also mentioned several opposition figures, including Sali Berisha, stating that they have been subjected to selective and unfair treatment. Concluding his speech, Gjekmarkaj said that Albania is in an "inverted reality," where, according to him, the honest are punished while the corrupt are favored, emphasizing that many citizens are leaving the country due to this situation.
