The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, has assessed Albania on its path toward integration into the European Union. She stated that Montenegro and Albania are at the forefront of the EU accession process, emphasizing that the European perspective remains the main driving force guiding political developments in the Western Balkan countries, including our country. Meanwhile, two days ago, the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, once again highlighted Albania as a country steadily progressing in the accession process toward the European family. In an interview with BBC News, Kos emphasized that Albania is doing well in the European integration process, adding that during her term as Commissioner, new memberships in the European Union are expected if candidate countries maintain the pace of reforms. "We have Montenegro, which is the most advanced. We have Albania, which is progressing well, as well as Moldova. So, these three countries and perhaps Ukraine, if they push forward with reforms, I hope that during my term we will have a new member state," she said.
